Project: Conversion to Form Community Centre
Location: Wallpole Road, Huddersfield
The former public house was purchased by the Eden Foundation to convert into a community use centre. The three storey property was in disrepair and in need of improvement. In addition to the improvements an additional floor was created in the large loft space. The internal layout was remodeled to suit the new use.
Project: Conversion to Form Hall of Residence
Location: Moor Park Avenue, Preston
The Old Preston College was purchased by Abrar Academy to be used in conjunction with their existing nearby school building. Due to the intake of residential students the building was converted to be used as a residence for students. A scheme was formulated to provide a robust fire detection and escape strategy.
Location: Byron Street, Oldham
Project: Conversion of Former Working Men's Club
The former working men's club was purchased by Taqwah Institute of Learning. The building had been disused for a number of years and was in a poor condition. The building was remodeled to be used as a community and teaching facility. An extension was proposed and an additional floor also installed to further increase the floor space. The old bowling green was to be replaced with a new outdoor play area.
Project: Conversion to Form Nursery
Location: Purlwell Lane, Batley
The Mount Pleasant Islamic Trust is a well establish organisation in the heart of Batley. The Darul Arqam nursery was located within the existing teaching building, but was now short of space. A fully detailed scheme was produced to refurbish and remodel the building to a modern nursery environment. The project was taking inception through to tender and was partially funded by Kirklees Council.
